Few sound questions

Just got my HTC One today and still getting used to it.
Is there anyway to disable the sound when taking a picture?
Is there a way to add a custom notification sound? I've noticed i can add a custom ring tone but didn't find an option under the notifications.

Sound on photo can be turned off only if you put your phone on silent.

I use the app "zedge" to set notification tones. Also whatever I download from zedge is usually present among the options in the "notifications sounds" menu

If you wanna set separate notification sounds for different notifications like sms and email, you can do that in their own setting's menu.

IE: if you wanna change your sms tone, go to messages > menu > settings > notifications. You can then set it from there. Same should apply for any other notifications you want to change. Hope this helps.

edit: if you go into camera then settings, there will be ab option to turn off shutter sound.

Hello , if you want to have a custom sound of anything you want for your text notifications i can tell you how to do that. Just hook your htc one to your computer by usb and open it up on your computer and paste a mp3 file into your notification folder and any other folder that has something to do with sound. then just go to what ever apps notification you want to change and you should be able to find it in its settings, and in the list of the usual notification sounds , you will find your new custom sound in there , pretty much how Beyond fire said.

Actually you can turn off the camera sound. Go to the camera settings and click on shutter options. You'll see it there.
