Few things I don't like..

you cant have a conversation about keyboards without talking about Swiftkey.

I think when starting out with the phone one of the set up screens asks which type of emoji you want to use. Not sure if this was sytem wide of from an app i use. Either way probably nothing like iphone.

Not on my Note8 either. Keyboard: really liked Gboard, but I found Cheetah Keyboard

I keep seeing this pop up on the Play Store with some impressive download/review numbers. I may give it a try tomorrow. I send out anywhere between 40 - 60+ emails in a day so I'm very picky about what keyboards I use.

As for the OP about Emoji, try out Textra. It's a great messaging app that has an option to convert emojis to the iOS style, this is only for SMS though, but it may work for you.

Mine is a little different. It says remote call on the top corner.

Tapping anything on the screen does nothing. It usually just disappears after awhile.

I am on Verizon. I just finished a call an I did not see that screen. I don't remember ever seeing that screen.
Follow the link posted by Jewel above.... It is something happening to some, and Verizon knows about it and i they are working on it. Since it appears it is the Verizon messaging app, and for others it's advanced calling. For me, it appears to be advanced calling. If I go to advanced calling settings and turn it off the notification goes away as soon as I turn it off. I turn advanced calling back on and the notification will eventually come back. Don't get it, the notification does not pop up every call and will disappear by itself when another call comes in.

Count yourself lucky it isn't happening to you. This forum has a tendency to blame or not believe a person when something is happening to them but not the majority because it isn't happening to them. In this case, you can see by reading the above link that Verizon is aware of this issue and right now they are saying it's Verizon messaging app, they are ignoring the ones like me where it's advanced calling, I'm sure because Verizon doesn't want to blame their awesome advanced calling. I would just turn it off, but if you want to have data while on the phone, advanced calling needs to be on.

Sorry for long post, but just want others to see that Verizon is aware of this issue and God knows when it will be fixed, my luck when the note 9 drops.

Thanks. It looks like it's either Verizon messages or advanced calling. I disabled Verizon messages since I use textra to see if it goes away. They say Verizon is aware of the issue so it should get fixed in a year. It could be something with my gear S3, hope not.

You're welcome. Hope it does get fixed for you and everyone else that has that issue:)

Ok, been testing the hell out of this. For me, I only get the remote screen when advanced calling is turned on. I turn advanced calling off and I never get the remote call screen. I have Verizon messages disabled, permissions denied, but that didn't change anything. The only thing that stops the remote call screen is turning advanced calling off, which isn't an option. The only way to get the remote call screen notification out of the notification drop down is wait for another call to come which usually deletes it, or go into settings and turn advanced settings off and back on, the notification goes away immediately when advanced calling is turned off.

I seem to recall this happening around the time frame after the last update. This was not a issue when I first got the phone, so something in that last update screwed up some people's phones. Question is, will they ever figure it out? This is why I hate updates.

I vote for SwiftKey keyboard. It's awesome. I never have to type the whole word, just a first couple of letters and it suggests the word I was trying to type.
