I went looking for a file manager for my new 6P and was just overwhelmed with so many available on the Google Play. Could someone please recommend one that would preferably also connect to my network drive. I have been using one from the Asus ZenUI Family which is adfree, but the interface looks a bit clunky.

I don't mind paying for the perfect one.

Thanks

Re: File manager recommendation

I've always used ES File Explorer, and was happy to support them in their paid version. Some folks don't like the new additions, but I just turn them off. It has very good network capabilities, and media extensions.

The reviews of the updated version don't seem very promising, but I'll give it a shot.
Thanks

Like I said, folks don't like the new additions (cleaner, etc.), but it is just as capable, and you can turn them off.

ES is a bit of bloated mess. it has antivirus, boosters and all the things most wont even need. and i think its still not meterial.

I recommend Solid explorer. Its beautiful and have no bloatware

+1 for Solid Explorer. Discovered it a few months ago and haven't looked back. I also like the options to customize the appearance, including a dark theme.

+1 for solid explorer. I used Root Explorer for years but I'm not going to root this phone. I tried ESS but I couldn't believe all the bloatware junk in it. Solid Explorer is first rate.

+1 for Solid Explorer. I gave up on ES File Explorer after all the bloat features were added.

Re: File manager recommendation

I use OI file manager... I found it has the least amount of app permissions.

Installed but then removed it as in not comfortable with the licensing agreement

Re: File manager recommendation

Tried X-plore for a day, quite like its folder tree interface.

Was it the part on the screen or the part that is linked? How else do you propose the app generate a unique ID for licensing? For what it's worth, my purchase on my 6P was also valid on my tablet so I'm not sure how that unique ID for licensing works...
