File size limit when emailing

I recorded a video tonight and then tried to email it via my gmail account from the phone but it told me the attachment file size was too great and instead sent the email without the video attached. Had this problem on my Blackberry but my iphone wielding friend doesn't have it. Is there a file size limit to what I can email from my phone?

The GMail attachment maximum is 25 MB. What e-mail is your iPhone friend using? Different e-mail systems set different limits.

We are both using gmail as far as I know. I checked out the size of the 2 movies I was trying to send and they are only 11 and 13mb. Other ideas?

I believe someone mentioned before that there was a filesize limit on attachments sent over Verizon's network (3g, etc.). I haven't tried sending videos, myself, so I don't recall what it is, though.

Just talked to Verizon. They told me the limit is 6mb. That's frustrating. my iPhone friend has no problems

Anyone know if it is possible to bypass the Verizon limit?

Maybe add it to a ROM or somethimg like that...

Sounds like you just want the ability to send larger files via the phone, but just in case here is an alternative,

Have you tried using the Allshare app on the phone to transfer it to your PC via Wifi instead of email. You could then send it via email from your computer to whomever.

They would work but I'd prefer to have the cap removed incase I want to quickly send a video to a friend while out and away from my PC.

I use a free version of yousendit.com from my pc. Haven't tried it, but don't see why it wouldn't work from my Fascinate. Very easy to use on both ends.
