Film over camera lens

It looks like there is a thin layer of plastic film over the lens, but there is also a circular hole in the film. Should this be left on? On my S4, you had to remove the film, but it didn't have a hole for the lens.I'm talking about the 1/2" square area around the lens itself. What say the experts here?
 
You can leave it on if you like it shouldn't affect the picture that's what the home is for. Some remove it some don't totally up to you.

It took me a few days to see it too. I noticed it starting to get little bubbles so I took them off. I thought there might have been one on the finger print scanner too (as mine does not respond well) but doesn't seem to be though I am afraid of picking at it too much.
