FINALLY!!! AT&T S5 Firmware update

I just tried doing mine, thought I was done after an hour, but apparently I didn't have enough room. I've moved as much as I can to the SD card, but what's with all the "other" crap?

Downloading now as well,I'll update with my install process also. Glad we didn't have to wait much longer after hearing the S4 was getting the update.

Finally finished, stupidly slow wifi at work. Install itself was quick with absolutely no issues. First impressions are good, seems a lot snappier now, seems to have a little cleaner look to it, and I am ecstatic to have my home button back lol. So so far so good I'll report back if anything says otherwise.

Clean install - noticed that my battery was down 10% (started at 100 % - now it is 90%) during the update itself. Updated Play Services and rebooted....we will see!

About damn time!

I just got done updating mine. It was initially pretty slow until I rebooted my phone and now it seems to be pretty fast. I noticed that unlocking the phone goes to the home screen much quicker than it did before. Scrolling on Chrome seems smoother too. Battery life seems okay so far and I enabled the secure lock feature with my Moto 360 as a trusted device (one of my most wanted features). Stupid home button glitch seems to be gone.

I'm pretty happy with it.

Mines done as well, like the new soft tones. Google play services won't update so about 8 apps are now worthless until the update... I noticed in the play store a lot of people gave bad scores for the Google play services saying there's won't update since getting lollipop so I guess I'm not alone..

Also, I wish the gs5 had the drop down menu from lollipop, I like the flashlight option there and would be nice to have it..

I started my update almost 2 hours ago and I'm at 92%. This is taking forever! Lol. I need to go to bed because I need to get up for work in 6 hours but I have a feeling I'll be playing around on this thing once it finishes. Gotta get a feel for Lollipop.

Finish updating about noon my time (pacific).......the update has been running for about 8 hours now. Have found no battery problems no overheating. I added bluetooth radio and played Google play music for an hour and still no overheating or any problems with the update.... I'm satisfied

Updated today after having my S5 for a week. I am new to Samsung, but it seems like TouchWiz overrides a lot of OS functions...so why was everyone so excited about getting this update? Trusted device unlock? Serious question...feel like I am missing something.

The update process went smoothly. The download took about 1 1/2 hours, then Lollipop started installing. The S5 rebooted and when the AT&T logo screen came up it sat there just long enough to make me start thinking it was a freeze, but then a message popped up to say that Android apps were updating, and it provided a running count as the apps updated. When that was finished, Goggle play said it needed to update and did so. That was it.

My S5 was plugged in while downloading the update. By the time everything was finished, I still had about 90% remaining; however, when I checked the time left, only 3+ hours remained. I wiped the cache partition and then I spent quite some time checking out various apps to see how they were working, then I rechecked the time remaining on the battery and it showed 16+ hours. So far, after 5 hours, everything still seems to be working smoothly, no bumps in the road.

Lollipop looks pretty good. I didn't think I'd like the white background but I find that I do like it. Lollipop seems to respond faster too, and all my apps seem to be working just fine.

Mine seems to be running great since the update about 8 hours ago. Battery life seems to be a lot better. It's been off charger for about 7 hours and is still at 41% with moderate use. So far very happy!! May keep phone longer now unless something changes...

Like you guys, I also have Galaxy S5 from AT&T. Downloaded this Lollipop update over the Wi-Fi (man, AT&T's servers are slow!), installed it, used it for few hours. So far no noticeable problems - everything seems to be smooth, less perceived "lag" than with 4.4.4 version, battery life seems to be somewhat better than with 4.4.4 (well, at least not worse). Phone is not overheating (only heated up during the actual update process), no "stuck" apps or processes so far, no app crashes of any kind. Really liking new app notifications on lockscreen, don't like the whole "white" theme (it provides low visual contrast and bright colors waste more power with AMOLED displays) but at least I can change Google keyboard's theme to original, darker one or change the background in stock "Messages" app to a darker one... Oh, and surprisingly there is no new "bloat" (useless, non-removable apps) with this version ;)

Nice job, AT&T, though it would be even better if they would've released it slightly earlier...

So I went to update and ran into the space issue and it gave me the 24 hour wait so I bypassed it with the date trick. Now I have the 2 opposing arrows in the top left saying that it's downloading the update, but when I go to check the status and percent of the update from the Settings > About Device method it says "connecting to DM server, please wait." Does anyone know if it is actually downloading the update or stuck in some kind of loop?

Finally!

It took all night to download the software and about 5 minutes to update; I left my phone plugged in since it was taking so long. I came here to see if anyone needed to do a factory reset because I seriously did not want to do it again for the 3rd time since having my GS5 as of September.

So far, I like the clean look, and yes, the white background on the settings. For me, it's easier to see. Everything seems to be running fine and smoothly. With all the playing, I've only lost 9% battery in the last couple hours. I'm still playing and discovering things. I'm not thrilled about the orange color in the main messages and haven't found a way to change it. The keyboard seems bigger than the last. I like the option of seeing the notifications on the locked screen vs the notification bar. I like the stack pages of 'open apps' vs the 'grid' view.

No issues on galaxy s5 after update. Much faster and without any issues for heavy user
