Finally having to move to Android

Welcome! I hope you end up enjoying all the wonders of Android. Even though I've always been an Android junkie myself, I had a WP7 phone alongside an Android tablet before I got my first Android phone. WP used to be more restricted than Android (on the level of an iPhone almost), but Windows 10 Mobile is ow in some (but not even near all) areas MORE free than modern Android devices (Interop tools is the GOD of Windows 10 Mobile apps and let's you mess around with various tweaks and even registry editing), so I actually have my mom's long retired Lumia 535 that I dusted off a few days ago and installed Windows 10 on (despite the weak SD200 processor).

Hi

I have been a MS Lumia 950XL user for a few years now but have finally decided, helped by Microsoft, to search for an Android phone.
I have put off moving as I have helped a few people to use Android and have not been impressed with what I have seen.
It seems that Android as an OS is ok, but all the manufacturers put their own front ends over, and these seem a nightmare, too complicated, too restricted.

Cheers
David

Hello and welcome to Android and these forums!
I came from using my beloved Palm Prē and WebOS, I still believe WebOS was the best choice and could've been the greatest, so I understand, but once you start using Android, you'll love it.

Hi everyone,
thanks for your input. Glad to see I am not the only Lumia junkie.
I finally bought an Xiaomi 9T Pro
It seemed a good buy for the money, and was amazed the day after it arrived it updated to Android 10
As I found from helping friends I get countless dozens of pop ups telling me I need to give xxx permission if I need yyy to work.

I am going to try one of the Windows front ends.

Cheers and happy new year to all. :-!
