Finally, Thunderbolt owners will get GB! HTC says September!

You're joking right? All I read about is one problem after another. I think the tbolt is the most buggy android phone ever built by a long margin. It has tremendous potential but is utterly hamstrung by bogus software and a ui that burns up all the extra ram and processing power it could deliver.

You realize that people aren't going to go on a forum everyday and say, "Hey, I need help, my Thunderbolt is working perfectly!", right? People go on a forum when they have issues, that's why most of the posts are about issues. Doesn't even come close to saying overall the phone is buggy for the majority.

For some, and for lucky others (like me) it's the best phone I've come across yet. (Until a new dual-core, LTE, HD screen comes out)

You must remember, people NOT having problems aren't going to come to the forums and praise the Thunderbolt all day.

And me. :) Yay! the Tbolt.

My Tbolt is running fine, only real issue is that the GPS has not very good. My family is using google latitude, 2-tbolts, 1-dinc and one iPhone. The iPhone moves with us when we are walking, always updated and accurate. All three androids are all over the place, slow to update, inaccurate etc...I use the GPS (or try to) a lot, very poor performance. I am running MR2.

Other than that, the phone has been solid.

Gingerbread fixes the gps issue. Fyi.
It locks great now.

Latitude doesn't use GPS to show where other people are, that would be creepy. It uses Google or VZW location services to figure an area where others are based on what towers they are using or where they are connected to wifi. (If your GPS is on, it should show your own location fairly accurately, try using GPS status or similar app if you don't get a quick lock) The TBolt's GPS works pretty good, I use it to geocache, ever since MR2 it locks on very quick and gives accurate coords to within a couple of feet, every bit as reliable as a stand alone GPS system.

My Tbolt is fantastic, running perfect since MR2. I have rooted since and now I'm running Bamf 3.0 RC 4.9 and it is amazing.

I've always got a good 120+MB of ram to spare running sense 3.0. Super snappy running gb without the need to overclock. Phone has been perfect since MR2, and was perfect before MR1...okay so MR1 wasn't that great...but otherwise I couldn't ask for a better phone. (Well I could ask for the Vigor, but I can be patient)

Let me completely assure you... even in the midst of the Thunderbolts MR1 debacle, it is not even close to the buggiest android phone ever built by a loooong margin, even just looking at Verizon devices. Motorola holds the top three spots on that:

1. Motorola Devour A555
2. Motorola Droid 2 A955/A956/A957
3. Motorola Droid A855
4. Samsung Fascinate SCH-i500 (post 2.2 update)
5. HTC Droid Eris ADR6200
6. Motorola Citrus WX445
7. LG Ally VS740
8. HTC Incredible 2 ADR6350
9. Motorola Droid X2 MB870
10. Samsung Continuum SCH-i400

Hell, you could even say the Bionic is buggier, since it has been delayed for the majority of the year due to bugs lol.

Best phone ever....no problems for me....Droid Incredible before this.
Definitely not the buggiest phone I have ever had....that award goes to the Blackberry Storm1.

HAHAHAHA! That is too funny. HTC already announced that the Thunderbolt will never get gingerbread but instead it'll get Ice Cream on Dec 21, 2012.

I've had GB on my bolt for months now. Glad I don't have to wait on Verizon getting their heads out of their rectums.

Every time I plug my tbolt in to the outlet at my house the bedroom lights flicker a little...is there a patch for that? :)

Its called an electrician. I would advise you to look into one before your house catches fire. lol

How many people that have a Thunderbolt in this forum are optimistic that the GB update will solve a lot of it's problems?

How do you solve "a lot of it's problems" when it doesn't have a lot of problems to begin with? Or are two or three minor issues considered "a lot?"

+1....no idea what you are talking about. The update released in July fixed the only major issue this phone had.

Didn't you see the original commercial for Thunderbolt? You have to run across roof tops in the dead of night and plug your TB into city electrical grid, then wait for lightening to strike. Plugging it into an ordinary household outlet is no way to charge this phone.

I actually told this to a customer in a store once while I was having a meeting with a store manager, so this made laugh.

I don't think people are looking for Gingerbread to solve any problems. In fact, I have never even heard that said once. The Thunderbolt at this point is fairly stable. What people are looking for with Gingerbread is maybe some added functionality and maybe a slight increase in battery life, but mostly we are all tech junkies, so having the newest thing is an addiction. How many times have you heard someone wanting ICS on the Thunderbolt on this forum? Its not because of the functionality as much as it is just getting whats new and shiny.

I consider better (slight as it may be) battery life as solving a problem. ;)
