Find my Device only works on WiFi

[Android Central Question]

Hi
I have given my daughter my old Galaxy A40 and set up Find my Device.
It works fine when connected to our WiFi but when not her phone can’t be located.
I have checked the settings and all seems to be correct.
Can anyone help

Welcome to Android Central! Does it have an active SIM card, or is it a wi-fi only device? Find My Device requires the phone to be connected to the web, so if it's a wi-fi only device and if it's not connected to wi-fi, it won't be located.

Ok, and she can make and receive calls with it? Is Location turned on? Is it possible she could be deactivating her location when she's out of the house?

Yep make and receive calls and txts.
She doesn’t turn off location

Hmm. You're talking about Google's Find My Device, and not Samsung's Find My Mobile, right?

Log out of Google, then log back in using Your Google credentials. Good luck
