Staples just sold me one, no questions asked!

:sigh: 5 Best Buys and 3 Staples later, no Xoom. Guess I'll get it at Costco on Sunday morning.

4 of the Best Buys said they had it but wouldn't sell it, two Staples had it but wouldn't sell. The third Staples doesn't get them until late April.

i tried 3 bestbuys.. all really didn't know about the wifi release and that they were carrying it.. i told the floor guy that they were and it said on the site in stores only. all of them went to the back and said they didn't have it.

i'll try staples and costco tomorrow.

Picked one up at Staples at about 3:00 Friday afternoon. When I entered the store, they were just setting up their display model. I asked them if they had any in stock and they said that that they had just received a shipment about 15 min before. They broke open the box and got me one. Sold it to me with no problem. The salesman did say that they were not supposed to start selling them until Sunday but he did not have a problem selling it to me today.

Before I went into Staples, I stopped by Best Buy and asked them about the Wifi only Xoom and they had no idea what I was taking about.

Nice. I called a few Staples this morning and not all have them. The ones that do said they will be setting up displays this evening but not selling before Sunday.

Tried 2 staples both would not sell it until Sunday but they have no clue what's going on because the kid went to get me one but when he came back said he can't sell it until sunday. I was so close.

Same thing happened to me.. He said his manager wouldnt let him sell it.

Was in Staples here in CT this morning and they were setting up their display 'end cap' on one of the front aisles. Said they got 10 in and some cases and power adapters. The guy I spoke to wasn't sure if they'd sell them Sunday or Monday...I didn't press it as I already have a 3G & Wifi Verizon Xoom.

I was in Best Buy later and there was no sign of them. They had Galaxy tablets in a beat up display and a big cardboard display in the in-store Verizon store announcing the Blackberry/RIM Playbook with specs on it, but nothing to hint of a Xoom including in the Verizon phone-selling-display area. Did not speak to anyone there.

Lol. Not surprisingly, the guy offered to sell it for $10,000.

Also, almost every person that told me they wouldn't sell it to me gave me their name and told me to ask for them on Sunday morning, and they would help me out.

I wish I knew about the Amazon Prime free release date delivery a few days ago, I would have ordered it from them and saved the $40 in tax.

Score ... just picked one up from Staples in Annapolis, MD. Best bet is to go in the stores. They are setting up the displays.

I got mine on Friday. Staples in Granite bay,CA. Called them guy said hold on, came back on the phone in 5 minutes and said yes we can sell it, use code word "#$%&*". Won't say guys name but I am loving it.
Yes there are hardly any apps for it but I can wait and I really like the fact that the xoom will get all the updates first like the Nexus S.

My local Bestbuy had them in stock understood the difference between the Verizon 3G model and that Wifi only model, but wouldn't sell, giving me a line about possible severe fines. I didn't push it, if I decide to get one I'll just go back tomorrow.
