AC Question

I am using moto g4 plus. I have a screen lock app which makes my life easier. But if I use it, even though phone recognizes my finder print, it still asks for backup security pattern to unlock the screen.

This happens only if i lock the screen using app. If i lock the screen manually, then just the finger print works.

Is this a known issue and is there a work around?

my phone asks for the pin when I first power on my phone- sounds like your screen lock app is basically doing the same thing - just every time.

No work around. This is an android thing. Using any non stock method to lock the phone will require backup security method.

correct. I thought it was a bug until I found the official bug report, where it was labeled "not a bug, working as intended". without rooting there is no way for an app to turn off your screen without being forced, specifically, to manually enter your password, pattern, or pin.

"it's a feature, not a bug"
