Fingerprint Biometrics without secure lock screen possible?

I'd like to keep my lock screen on my S9+ set to swipe, but would like to be able to log into PayPal and apps that use the fingerprint scanner... I had it on my S8+, but when I log my fingerprints and go back to swipe it requires you to delete any stored biometrics. I'm sure there is a workaround, but it is eluding me at the moment. I know I could set a secure lock screen and use trusted places, but it is kinda spotty when I'm inside the building here at work. I'd rather just have swipe rather than a secure lockscreen. Just a personal preference. Anybody know how I can do this? Thanks in advance.

can you set swipe unlock (that would delete all fingerprints then go to register fingerprints again but at the end of the setup process uncheck "fingerprint unlock"?

Nope. The FPS sensor and data require a secure lockscreen. It's a security measure by design, and a good one... if you were to allow your fingerprint data to be stored in an unsecured device, that would be bad.

Why would it be bad? Wouldn't they need your fingerprint or password to access it. Isn't it the same as if it was on your lock screen. I hate unlocking every time I want to use a calculator or check a text message.

I would like to find an answer. I don't have much to secure besides a few pay sensitive apps I'd like to use my fingerprint for...or login and password auto-fill on the Samsung Internet app saved to bio-metrics (didn't work on Chrome) was brilliant! You could store your passwords with a fingerprint or iris so you don't have to remember passwords, it was super fast, and if someone picks up your phone, auto-fill doesn't work without security. Bottom line is, I'd know if my phone was lost or stolen within 5 min. I hop online and its tracked, locked, or erased. I just need to stop the thieves from accessing sensitive stuff for a few minutes.

I am looking for something similar. I want to be able to use apps like google pay or login to apps that use fingerprint without having a lockscreen set. Basically trick apps into thinking its set.

I am willing to pay someone to come up with an app that will either allow finger print with lockscreen disabled or set to swipe only, or better yet make other apps think a lockscreen is set when its only swipe or disabled as well as allow fingerprints.

You're looking for Fingerprint Security. Made specifically for Samsung phones and works great. It's on the play store.

I agree 100% and am looking to do the same thing. Did you ever find a solution? Thanks!

Did racedog's suggestion, from posts #6 & 8, turn out to be untrustworthy?

A phone with fingerprint unlock can be kept unlocked with SMART LOCK, via place, device, etcetera.

So, I know it is not a solution necessarily.... but, you don't have to do but one touch to use your fingerprint. At least that is how it works for me. I pull my phone out and touch the fingerprint sensor and it opens to the home page. No power button required or home button. Not sure if you were aware of that. For me, it is easier as I have gotten used to doing that. Pick up phone, touch sensor, done.

Especially, when removing from a pocket.
