Fingerprint not recognized while in direct sunlight

My S20 fe 5g won't recognize any of my fingerprints if I'm outside in direct sunlight. Is there a remedy for this, or do I have to put in a pattern because the fingerprint reader gets blinded?

Since the FPS uses infrared light, it IS susceptible to heat and sunlight interference. This is gonna sound weird, but trust me, it works most of the time: try licking your finger before. I know, I know. Gross haha but it does work!
