Fingerprint problem, not opening apps?

I have this weird problem on my wife's phone (Redmi 5 plus). Apps that use fingerprint unlock don't work. For example, bank application crashes when I try to enable fingerprint login there. I downloaded from playstore the application "fingerprint test" and it also crashes when I try to launch. I downloaded same application in my android phone (Redmi S2) and it works there. But what's weird that, fingerprint sensor works physically. For example we can unlock phone with fingerprint, & in settings we can remove and add new fingerprints.

Any advices?

Seems like this phone was hacked too. When I checked my wife's Google account, I saw some unknown Samsung device among our devices. I also remembered that someone tried to hack her Facebook few days ago with Samsung phone. We changed her Facebook password and added more security measures there, however I didn't know that person hacked her Google too and seems like he hacked it too, then otherwise I can't explain how in her Google devices that Samsung was sitting. Unfortunately there's no option to remove his phone there at all, so all I did was to sign him out. So, after I signed out his phone in Google, I changed her Google password and then did hard factory reset on her phone and obviously didn't use old backups, but chose fresh install. Now, I checked this fingerprint problem and it's solved too. I don't know if it was also connected to this hacker or not, but it's fixed now too. Now, we're gonna install only few trusted apps from only Google playestore.

Hmm, that's a little worrisome. Are you sure she didn't log into your Google account from some Samsung device that isn't a phone or tablet? Like a PC or Chromebook, perhaps?

I'm guessing you also turned on 2-factor authentication for her Google account after all this.

I'm sure. We don't have Samsung phone or tablet at all. Only Samsung we have is TV. And the device that was shown in her Google devices and which is still show is Samsung SM-G955F. I already had 2-factor authentication enabled on her Google account, before this phone appeared there, but I changed her password. She has Google prompt enabled, has google authenticator enabled and has phone number verified too that can receieve codes. This is the device that is shown as "her device" in her Google and this is the device that tried to login in her Facebook too:

Did you have a Samsung Galaxy S8 at some point in the past? Was it removed from your account?

First, what happens if you tap Sign Out in that Find My Device screen? Or the Don't Recognize This Device option?

Second, have her run Google's Security Checkup and disconnect any device or app you don't recognize: https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup

I don't know what is "Find My Device". Can you be more specific?
I already did security checkup & disconnected/signed out any devices that I don't recognize, including that Samsung phone. However, it is still sitting there, just signed out and I don't see option to remove it:

In the screenshot you linked above in post no. 4, there are options for Sign Out, Find Device, and Don't Recognize This Device? What happens if you tap Sign Out?

Ok, so that's a step in the right direction. What happens if you tap "Don't Recognize This Device?"

Ok, well if you've already changed the password, the account should be safe now -- but make sure you're also using 2-factor authentication. I'd also go through all of your sensitive accounts (banks, social media, etc.) and change all of those passwords.
