Fingerprint reader reliability took a dump after screen replacement

Have an S10 and the fingerprint reader worked reasonably well with the factory screen protector removed. Cracked the screen so recently had the screen replaced by a reputable local phone repair place I had used before. Reliability of the phone fingerprint reader has now taken a dump and maybe works 10% of the time. Usually just get a no match message and end up unlocking by PIN.

I deleted and recorded my four fingerprints twice but still the same result. Even turned on the better screen sensitivity but no better. It was able to record the fingerprints so obviously the fingerprint reader is working but not for unlocking.

Any suggestions?

Try erasing all the fingerprint and set up again?

One tip I read and use that seems intriguing and works, just do the same finger 2x. Try that.

... for instance.

Are you sure that it was replaced with an OEM screen?

I did ask that question and he wasn't sure. But, from what I understand, Samsung is the sole supplier for their S10 screens so not even sure of third party screens are even available.
I would take it back to the repair center that replaced the screen.
I hope it still has its water resistant rating .
