Fingerprint unlock problem

I'm unable to unlock with fingerprint, it keeps asking for pin code for security reasons. Using Google has taught me that it it probably caused by a 3rd party screen on/off app which I need to use with flip cover. Isn't there any way to use both screen on/off app and fingerprint unlock simultaneously?

I use a 3rd party launcher that has gestures for screen off. When setting this up it will give me the option of using fingerprint to unlock. Does the app you're using maybe have something like this that you missed on set-up?

No, unfortunately the app doesn't give that option. I don't want to use a 3rd party launcher, I like my phone the way it is now. The app I'm using is only to turn the screen off/on when covered/uncovered by the flip case.

I now protect the apps and settings I want with an app called Finger Security and don't use screen lock at all. This works fine for me.

Not knowing more about these apps, it sounds like they are totally bypassing the FPS security APIs completely... Which probably disables a few dependant functions.

No, unfortunately the app doesn't give that option. I don't want to use a 3rd party launcher, I like my phone the way it is now. The app I'm using is only to turn the screen off/on when covered/uncovered by the flip case.

I found a solution. It's an app called 'Hi Locker', free with a pro version for $1.99. Let's you unlock with your fingerprint no matter how you lock or turn off your screen. Works great! I just got it and I'm happy, this was driving me nuts.
