You shouldn't ever run your battery completely out so the device dies. That is EXTREMELY rough on the battery and can decrease its life significantly.

Nonsense. These are consumer electronic devices, designed to handle this situation. The batteries are taken off line well before there is ANY risk to the battery.

That is not true. Discharging a LiON battery fully can damage the cells and actually cause more harm than good. There is NO benefit whatsoever to discharging it fully.

Read what I said.
The device will not let you discharge it to absolute zero voltage.

Look, they have actual electrical engineers designing these things. You know, guys who actually went through college and on to grad school, instead of just reading about it on the web.
