First 5 Days done with HTC one - Apps I have grabbed and My opinion

My HTC One has one random reboot every 3-5 days but it usually happens at night for some unexplainable reason and I'm running a CM10.1 nightly build on this aluminum-clad bad boy so that should pretty much explain it. Before rooting and ROMing my phone however, I've noticed that Blinkfeed and Sense launcher occasionally crashes when using NFC on my particular handset, especially with many apps in the background. It sometimes fixes itself after a while but I had to do a few reboots now and then.

Google Play Music.........need I say more? As you've mentioned in the OP, Google may have downgraded the overall experience with the new UI. Album artwork when on the 'Now Playing' screen shows the album art zoomed at a small amount and slowly moves. I really hate that new feature and wish there was a way to stop it. Also, don't be surprised if you see the app running constantly: it stays on to ensure a proper connection to your Google account's Google Music library. Regarding alternatives for Google's half-assed update to what was once a great music app, I recommend PowerAmp, N7 music player, Rocket Player, Winamp and Apollo. (Link to Apollo as it's not available in the Play Store: [APP][2.3+] CyanogenMod Apollo - Music Player (Updated 19.06.13) - xda-developers)

HD Widgets: Bought this and don't really use it, can be used to control various features, like light, wifi, bluetooth etc.. I may come back to it, not sure how badly the widgets impact battery life.

You might like to check out an app called "Power Toggles" instead, at least for the light/wifi/bluetooth toggles. It adds the toggles to the notification pulldown instead of taking up room on a homescreen. Works very well! Even includes an optional battery meter for the notification bar.
