First casualty - screen cracked

I'll keep insurance for a year. I was going to keep my BlackBerry as a backup but I sold it. That will pay for a year of coverage.

I didn't want to have to go back to my BB!

That is exactly why I got it too. I thought about going back to my bb tour. That was enough to make me sick.

I got Squaretrade for $99 for two years with adh. Their deductible is $50 and coverage is $600 so technically I'd get $550 towards a new phone.

Hope I never have to do that. My SI 2 case is arriving on Tuesday and I have a SGP screen protector. Hope it all helps.

Doesnt look like squaretrade covers a cracked screen, right?

**EDIT i see the adh clause. So if you drop it by accident and screen cracks square trade would replace it? For 100 bucks for 2yr insurance I would jump on this vs going through verizons 8 buck a month plus what is it now 80, 90 buck deductuble...square trade is 50? I think I may jump on this tonight, anyone else not like this deal or see something wrong with it??

Most times you can get a better deal with insuring your phone through your homeowners policy.

Verizon has a $100 deductible, plus they give you a refurbished phone for ~$9 per month, then, will only cover certain "faults."

My homeowners policy insured my phone for $900 with $0 deductible, all faults covered, with a new phone for $30 per year.

Pretty bummed out...screen cracked.

Dropped the phone while taking it out of my pocket to show someone.
I knew it as soon as it hit the ground. It sounded like when Ralphy stepped on his glasses just aster he **** his eye out.

I had a silicon case but it obviously failed.
Thank God I have the insurance.

I just added insurance two days ago (after thinking it over). Your experience makes me glad I did. :) I added it through VZW and it cost 5.18/mo and it covers loss, damange, water, etc.

Wow, wish I had homeowners but I'm sure thats expensive as it is..and its a good thing to add something as small as a cell phone in there. Get more for your moneys worth
