First impressions?

You need to remove the widget from the stock launcher as well and then restart the phone.

Didn't have any on the pixel launcher, but removing the widgets and rebooting does seem to have done the trick, nice one!

Edit: the clock being material you themed was an awful idea! Now I can't read it, because it took it's colour from parts of my wallpaper lol.

Could someone comment on the audio quality of the speakers and also the call quality/reception? Thanks

I rarely use the speakers so I can't comment on that however the signal is stronger for me compared to my S21 Ultra and call quality so far seems to be the same.

The FPS might be a tad slower opening compared to my S21 ultra but I haven't had any issues with it not working so far (I don't have dry hands). The phone is very smooth and I'm loving all the changes in Android 12, no issues with any app's. The only thing I found so far that I not a fan of is the adaptive brightness, it's a little to dark for my taste. Also in a dark room the brightness seems to change a more than on Samsung.

This has always been my experience as well. I go back and forth between Samsung and Google, and Google phones have always had stronger signals.

I stopped using adaptive brightness during the Pixel 3`s reign. Not going to be a problem for me...

I'm actually considering keeping my Pixel 4. Yeah the 6 pro is an upgrade but it doesn't feel like it. Yeah photos and video are a little better (a little too heavy handed on the processing now). I've copped lens flare and redish purple haze from bright sources in a lot of photos. Battery has been ok but nothing too great. I don't know...
And it's huge compared to what I'm used to. Lol.

Maybe get the regular 6 instead and keep the 4 as a backup? The 5 years of security updates is a big reason why I'm most likely getting a 6 or 6 Pro. That and the fact they're cool new Pixels :p

Anyone coming from a Samsung? What do you think about the volume and power button positions being reversed?

Annoyingly mine was supposed to be delivered today and now UPS says there is a mixup and I should check back tomorrow.

Coming from the Pixel 3 I have to say I am seriously disappointed in the speakers Very hollow sounding and the top speaker volume is significantly lower than the bottom firing speaker(s?). Watching videos of those I subscribed to on YouTube has been somewhat disappointing due to the poor sound quality. Not sure if software updates can fix sound, but I sure hope so! It's not a deal breaker for me but something I certainly hope they improve moving forward.

Call quality for me has been excellent! Crystal clear and loud on my end and no complaints from folks on the other end ...

I have a 3XL, and it's definitely a boombox..great sound. I was figuring the 6 would be at least as good? It's hard to beat big dual front firing speakers though I guess.

It's sad some things like front firing speakers, and rear fingerprint scanners, are going away just because they're no longer fashionable :(

It's a bit irritating, but if you're fully switching it'll probably only take a day or two to get used to

I am coming from a Pixel 5 that I updated to Android 12 last week so I got used to the new look and feel. Was worried about the 6 (non pro) would be larger than I want.

So far, it is a nice upgrade that feels nice in the hand. The camera bump is awkward is all.

Thanks for the info. I'm puzzled because I'm presently reading Android Authority's review of the Pixel 6 Pro. The following is a quote from their review.

"Google didn't call out any specific audio technologies in the speakers, such as Dolby Atmos, but they do sound good. Not only do the speakers get nice and loud, but they are also clear throughout the volume range. I was able to fill mid-size rooms with plenty of sound without crackling or distortion."

I'm digging the phone. I have the 6 Pro, and it really does feel like a flagship should. The screen is absolutely beautiful. The phone feels fast no matter what I'm doing. I'm glad I upgraded.

Agree with the above...

Maybe I'm just tone deaf LOL
I've been using the Pixel 3 for so long that maybe I've just gotten so used to how they sound. Either way, I'm moreso on the "this is a keeper" side of things ... A little more than 24 hours with my 6 Pro and very happy with it thus far.

The 6 feels like a solid chunk of phone. Just a wee bit bigger than the 5a but quite a bit heavier. No major complaints here. I got mine pretty well dialed in.

I agree - don't regret getting the 6 at all.
