With all the negative comments surrounding the S25 (mainly the Ultra) and coupled with the fact that I can't sleep. Thought it would be nice for us to have a section where we can express or opinions good or bad when we actually have our devices in hand. Look forward to seeing how everyone's day 1 will be. See you'll soon .

Just got mine so I'll come back in a week to see
Yes I'm going to give it some time before my impressions, but the first one is that it feels so great in the hand. No sharp edges and the weight. Man does this thing feel good. It's a noticeable difference even coming from the Pixel 9 Pro XL. It's light without feeling cheap. So excited to set everything up and give it the ultimate test .PXL_20250130_170227476.MP~2.jpg

is there a back side protective plastic sheet?

mine is white and it is MATTE/frosted. all the pics showed a GLOSSY white version.

i can't find any places to peel off any protective sheet!

is there any need with current batteries to fully charge the battery up before the first use?

in the old days, that was best for the batteries. but with modern batteries, i wonder if it is necessary at all?

No there is no plastic on the back just a small little sticker and they say that you don't have to charge the phone completely before use, but I'm old fashioned so I'm charging fully lol. It did come about 80% charged so I'm sure you're good either way. The back is matte but a fingerprint magnet.

Got mine today! Restoring now with Smart Switch.
First observations…..
This phone might be close to the S 24 ultra specs and a lot of things. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. The form factor with the rounded corners and flat edges are a big deal. They make it seem so premium.
The blue titanium color is almost iridescent in some lights. Did not expect that, but I like it :)

Absolutely love the form factor. Doesn't seem too round at all. Still very much square where it needs to be. The reviewer's really downplayed the build. Which isn't surprising since most of them are mainly iPhone users and only review the phone as a job. Samsung gets an A+ in my book for this build. I literally want to go careless but probably won't .

My first impression is..... Wow!! This is so much lighter than the S24U.
Also...... It feels way better in my hand.
Charging right now then I will set it up.
Feels very natural to the hands right? Doesn't feel like a massive phone at all.

I'm loving it! Feels great in the hand, snappy... loving the size of the 25U. Definitely some OneUI7 differences to get use to but overall great. But my favorite thing is essentially no longer needing to say "Hi Bixby" with Samsung extensions on Gemini. I can say "Hey Google" for just about all functions now including phone settings. No need for 2 voice assistants.

I like the form factor, feel, etc. of the 25 U over the 24U. The screen is good. Several small improvements that make a nice difference.

It seems like they need to update some things for Android 15. NavStar does not work in Good Lock. Full screen (show camera) does not work for several apps where it did on the 24U. I do not like the notifications/controls shade as much. It seems like the old one was easier. There is too much on it now that I do not use.

Pretty good first impression.

Will put my thoughts in the more appropriate thread:

Have my S25 Ultra finally all set up. Am very impressed. Easier to hold than my S24 Ultra was, and I'm enjoying the completely flat screen. Spigen tempered glass screen protector went on well, as did the back camera protectors from ESR. Very happy with my Tech21 Evo Lite case too. Battery appears better too. Also feel the phone is snappier than my S24 Ultra was.

The modem in the S25 Ultra is also better. It picks up wireless networks better and seems to hold a better connection to the networks. Screen is definitely better too, more clarity and vividness. Speakers are better than my S24 Ultra too.

Feels like the touch sensitivity with the screen is better as well. One thing I hope they fix with a software update is the alarm icon isn't showing in the upper right hand corner of the screen like it's done with previous UIs. The battery icon and percentage being all together is growing on me.

I like the all vertical app drawer, opposed to swiping to the side while in the app drawer. The app icons are also better and more crisp.

I love that the first thing everyone is mentioning is the better feel in hand compared to the S24U. That along with the weight reduction is very noticeable. Shows that they're not just focused on the phone's cosmetics.
I'll remind everyone how the note users in here complained about rounded corners, they liked the box look and feel. The rounded corners on phones have always felt better in the hand far as I'm concerned.
