First time a phone camera shocked me

So nice almost looks fake, Kinda surreal in a way. Nice tho. Make a great postcard

Are you sure you didn't run it through snapseed? Looks like HDR filter has been turned waay up. Nice pic though.

That's a great pic! You really do need to send that in to Google, looks like one of the pics worthy of being in the Chromecast slideshow

It's a glorious feeling when you just pull up your phone, snap a shot without much effort, and then come to look at it later on, only to see that what you shot actually looks really darn good.

I've had that feeling with the LG G4 and Galaxy Note 7, both of which had really good cameras. While my current Moto Z may not have a camera that's in the same class as those phones plus the Pixel (the Moto Z's sensor is a bit on the older side as it utilizes a Sony IMX214, a 1/3" 13MP sensor, while the G4 used a 1/2.6" 15.9MP Sony IMX234, the Note using a 1/2.6" 12.2MP Sony IMX260 and the Pixel using a 1/2.3" 12.3MP Sony IMX378), it did manage to take quite a number of shots that actually kinda made me stand up and admire it.

We've come a long way with phone cameras. From tiny VGA shooters that were more of a convenience thing to proper pocket photography machines, it's a great time to be snapping photos with a phone.

Just don't expect it to match an I.L.C. in all aspects.

Yeah... see... what happened in that you came upon a professional quality scene. The time of day is perfect for beautifully lit scenes... you were in an excellent spot, framing a rather dramatic scene (dichotomy of modern society and nature) and you had a camera that was capable of good dynamic range and details... The planets aligned.

What to take away from this is that cameras in phones have managed to improve to the point where they won't get in the way and butcher the shot as easily as they used to....

Wow, nice shot! (And from the title I was half-expecting you to read a story of how the camera had electrically shocked you :( )

That is a awesome picture taken by the Google Pixel and if it's a true picture that hasn't been enhance in any sharp or form them more props to you.

When you said your phone's camera shocked you, I thought it was literally. I was thinking, "You better return that Note 7."
