Five days with the LG G3 and I'm about ready to send this back!

Cleaned up some posts. Please let's keep this on topic.

But every time there is a new phone release it seems there are people that are anxious to dump on people's parade..they have minimal or no problems and just like to try to make others look for problems that may not exist. I agree that if there are legitimate problems then let's get it out but if you don't own the device or just look to hate on anything that's considered better than your device then go home

Sorry I missed it. Who were you talking about, I mean which poster was dumping on other peoples parade?

I feel for you. My Verizon G3 doesn't suffer from any of these issues. AT&T really screwed this phone...

I enjoy the good and bad reviews. Sorry your having the issues you are. I must say I'm having no issues. I have no lag and the battery is better than I thought it would be.

My sprint g3 is burning through battery life like all normal phones, unlike my g2 that has never in 6months entered battery saving mode and had supernatural battery life. My g3 is less than a week old and I'm running ART from the developers options which is new to me and it may take a few days for the phone and OS to gel. If not I'll try a battery app and get used to charging, hell there's 300 million iPhone owners who love their phones and can't get through 4 hours on a full charge. Don't forget the 5.5 behemoth screen it powers

I got the impression that people thought dpham00 was joking or talking among himself. This caused me to press some buttons. Please listen to dpham00. This will help us avoid similar encounters in the future. A couple of people received warnings instead of infractions. There will be no more warnings in this thread.

Thread has been cleaned again. Let's please try to keep things on topic and productive. Thanks!

I started off really liking the screen size and overall feel but the defects are starting to stack up. Here's what I'm running into:

1. AT&T have disabled the FM radio that I normally use a good deal. LG makes it and AT&T breaks it.
2. The camera is nowhere near as fast as they claim. NOWHERE NEAR! Forget all this laser and millisecond nonsense. This thing takes 2-3 full SECONDS to fire off a round. Quality is good but speed seriously sucks.
3. Found out calls will not be placed even with one bar of 4G. THAT is a FAIL.
4. Today while exploring in the country I found that with one to two bars of 4G, Google Maps would not function. What??!! On my old WIFI ONLY Samsung device I could run Google Maps with NO DATA CONNECTION AT ALL! This is a major letdown.
5. There's an annoying issue where audio will not function out of the headphone jack. Music out the speaker, plug in and....music still comes out the speaker. Yes, good audio cord and.3.5 mm plug. Also, if I DO manage to get audio to come out the headphone Jack and into. the stereo... when the music player switches between songs there's an annoying loud "spark/static" noise. So amateurish.
6. The Knock-knock screen turn on is pretty slow.
7. The LED notifications do not work. I've got colors all set up in my email apps and LED notification turned on. Although there is one blue LED that appears when the screen is turned on, the LED never works for any incoming messages.

This whole thing feels either very beta or very f*cked-up by our friends at AT&T.

I'm not happy. Hope others are faring a lot better than me.

Sounds like yes a bad unit or a very disturbed software package. I know the firmwares are not directly comparable but my Flex does not drop calls even with 1bar/-115dbm signal strength, so your calling and data issues may be due to a weak SENDING strength even though your phone RECEIVES just fine....it thinks.

The G3 was the first phone I ever returned..the screen was washed out , battery life sucked and it got hot very quickly..it's a shame I am back to the G2 which I love ..

Never regret loving a phone that works, only regret the inevitable parting.

From reading all of the "G3 issue" threads it seems like there could be a batch of defective devices. I say this because I have literally had no issues. The only concern I had was the fluidness of the UI (coming from an M8) and I have been pleasantly surprised.

If you are having issues with your device like the ones described in this thread I strongly suggest swapping out your device for another. I've had a plethora of devices and this G3 is by far my favorite device

Seconded. Even the M8 forums settled down somewhat.

Had my Verizon G3 4 days now. I came from a Droid Maxx. This is a great device. Battery is on PAR with my Maxx. Use it all day, charge it at night. Its simple, The more you use it, the more it sucks the battery. I don't see a lag, really. It has a very nice camera. It takes nice pics, there is a very minor transition after the snap, but its a phone, not a $1000 camera. The LED light function does seem a little quirky. Should have a few more selections for color, blink speed ect. The phone is amazingly light weight. But enough to know its in your hand. Feels great to hold, but I did order a good case for it. I haven't been able to get the day dream function to work properly though. I'll run over to the Verizon store to see if I'm doing things right. Overall, the G3 is an amazing piece of technology. I'm very happy with it, even with a few little quirks that I hope to iron out soon.

Hm, should I hold off buying this phone? I'm still using an HTC lamezound and it's pissing me off with it's overheating issues etc. I like seeing both the positive and negative opinions/reviews of people as long as they aren't over exaggerated and blown out of proportion.

The extreme amount of non removable bloat unless you root makes this the one of the worst carrier released phones ever on At&t. They went beyond my carrier phone bloat expectations which is really bad. I pretty much am passing this phone off to another family member to use because I don't want to root it just to remover bloat and carrier iq. I can tolerate a little bloat but this is just to much and carrier iq appearing again is the last straw. LG is now dead to me as far as phones go. They are big enough where they could have refused half this bloat and said no carrier iq on their phones. Even smaller phone companies do that now.

I'm assuming Verizon is probably really bad then?

With 32 GB and micro SD, why not disable the ATT Bloat and see how the phone works. You can't recover the storage on the phone but the bloat won't slow the phone down. Do not blame LG for the bloat - they deliver a "clean" phone with their UI and their "extra apps" (which may or may not be more bloatware depending on your perspective). If there is too much undisablable (New Word?) apps then I guess you have no choice but to return it.

Suprisingly Verizon isn't that bad. Just the usual bloat and the logo on the front. We got wireless charging and I'm pretty sure everything has been carried over.

I just got my G3 about 4 hours ago and must say I was pleasantly surprised with the Verizon bloatware. It wasn't near as bad as I feared it would be.

After 4 hours I can't give an honest review of the phone and if I will even keep it, or go back to my DNA. The only thing I do know is that it feels good in the hand for as large of a screen as it has. Coming from a DNA it doesn't feel that much bigger.

I have had my G3 for five days and have had no issues with it. Battery life is at least as good as my iPhone 5s.
