Some users complain about lag. Go to settings go to developer options and click force GPU rendering. It will definitely speed up your tablet. But I think it may stop you from playing 3D games. Test it out and see if it still allows 3D games.

Its a vestigial option these days as most apps do incorporate GPU rendering. It can as noted make some things smoother, but it also can cause odd behavior especially in older less CM'ed apps out there. It will also draw more power and drain your battery faster and isn't a good option if running 3rd party launchers, usually.

The developer options are locked and labeled such for a reason, most things are optimized already. The laggy issues with the N9 aren't fixed by these workarounds, it merely mitigates the symptoms.

That said, thanks for the reminder for those that may not be familiar, just be weary and cognizant that the option is vestigial from pre-2011 days and buggy on older apps.

Alright. So it really won't make a difference in speed ? And will it drain battery ?

Correct ... You're best option is to reduce the animation speed to .5x as this will "speed up" the transitions and window/apo drawer pop-ups and give the "impression" of faster speed.

There's most likely (as posted in other avenues) a memory leak which implies a reboot now and then may also help with performance.

You can change animation speed via the developer options as well, there are three settings, just change all to .5x and then open folders and the app drawer and you should immediately see a noticeable improvement in transition which often tends to make people believe there is a lag.

As per app lag, a reboot now and then will help, just a fact of life with java, as they say, "you used to have a problem, now you have a ProblemFactory"
