Hello everyone. I am having an issue with ClockworkMod Recovery. Every time I try to boot into recovery, it automatically does a nandroid backup and reboots. It doesn't matter if I reboot from within Rom Manager. choose Recovery from the reboot menu, or if I hold power+volume down and choose recovery from there.

This just started happening today. I did do a nandroid backup this morning, and then went to flash a new kernel. It went straight to do a backup again.

I am running CM7 with Savaged-Zen 1.1.0 CFS kernel. My version of ClockworkMod Recovery is 3.0.0.5. I have tried flashing Clockwork from within ROM Manager, and still get the same thing.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it's stuck on a startup script for some reason, from your first backup that you did.

Try to re-flash the kernel from within rom manager, just install zip from sdcard, hopefully it'll write over the startup backup and clean itself up when it reboots.

Well...that didn't work. Is there any way to delete that startup script? Or, am I screwed. I also tried flashing the alternate recovery from within Clockwork with no luck.

I use Amon_RA instead, so you will have to excuse any ignorance in my question and attempt to help.

Have you tried re-flashing the Clockwork Recovery from HBoot? I would think that you could do it using a PC36IMG.zip flashable zip of the Clockworkmod Recovery.

That may be what you meant when you said you tried flashing the alternate recovery.

Or here's a PC36IMG.zip you can just put on your sdcard, reboot your phone in to bootloader, it'll search it up and update your recovery image:

PC36IMG.zip

That contains clockworkmod recovery v3.0.0.5

AWESOME!! I couldn't find the PC36IMG.zip file when I looked (obviously I didn't look good enough). That worked.
