Flash ROM from SD card?

Was just curious to know if i could download a rom to my sd card and flash through Nandroid. im already rooted. i just did a Nandroid restore cause some funny things were goin on and now want to put CM6 or something along those lines on. I dont have access to a comp with the SDK and JRE and all that atm so ya... Can i just move it to SD and flash from Nandroid? If so, what are the expected issues if any? BTW, im trying to do this before i leave work at 10 pm central so any quick tips are appreciated. THANKS GUYS!!!

edit- i was running KA sugarfree and now restored from nandroid back to 1.5 SW ver is 1.56.651.2

Download with your phone, it's slower but it is doable. To answer your question, yes you can flash from recovery. I do it all of the time. Just make sure that the zip is in the sdcard root.
