Flash US Cellular Galaxy S4 to Verizon (or any GSM carrier) ROM for GSM accessibility?

Can I flash my US Cellular Galaxy S4 to a stock or custom rom from another carrier and gain access to GSM frequencies? I am trying to find a loophole as I recently purchased a US Cellular Galaxy S4 and found out that the phone is :( not unlockable :( from the US Cellular network, if you know a trick please let me know.

So this is the only thing I could think of, installing a rom from another carrier which utilizes the GSM frequencies, I imagine all the Galaxy S4s have CDMA/GSM as internally they all appear to look the same. I imagine though it is just a matter of which carrier rom allows you access to the GSM frequencies.

EDIT****Galaxy S4's use a sim card slot specifically for LTE****, so I imagine this data is sent through the GSM port, if this is to be the case then the GSM antenna must be installed and active. By flashing roms I should most certainly be able to gain access to this. I would like someone to possibly confirm my theory or at least suggest it sounds plausible and I will get to flashing and posting the results.

thanks for the read and the help.

hi, im new here. Do you found a solution? I always flash roms and staff, and what you say, sounds pretty nice to me to. Some body told you if it was possible? Thanks

Similar question but the opposite....

Ok, I might get flamed here for this silly question but...
If you have a Verizon phone (like a broken contract one)...not stolen or anything (so it wouldn't be blacklisted)...
Is it possible to flash it with a stock rom (or modded one) for another carrier, like MetroPCS? The reason I am asking is if someone had a Verizon contract, broke it, and has MetroPCS, is it possible to refresh it solely to get rid of the Verizon extra junk? Right now, the phone is rooted and most of the Verizon stuff is off it and it works fine with data, mms, and phone. The only problem is the bloatware and that the APN's periodically have to be re-entered...kind of a pain.
So IF you flash it with a stock MetroPCS rom, will it even work or are there some hardware restrictions?

Over at XDA-Developers people are flashing a Cricket Rom to the SCH-R970 (SGS4 us cellular). I'm looking into doing so with T-mobile and at&t.

Is it a stock Cricket ROM, or has it been modified to work with a USC S4? If it had to be modified, you'll probably have to do some mods to get it to work on AT&T. (TMobile? Check the bands for the particular model. You may end up with 2G only.)

Has anyone found out if this works yet? And if so could you direct me to the thread please, any help would be appreciated
