Flashing new widgets & load screen questions

Sorry I know this is probably a simple question. However this TB is my first Droid phone as of yesterday Coming from an iphone. I am already rooted, running BAMF 3.0 RC4, with the MR2 Radio, and the Red Dropz theme. Took a little work last night to figure all that out Anyway on to the question. I have found a few clock widgets and load screens that I like in zip format but cannot figure out how to get them loaded. So how do you flash, or load them? I have tried just flashing them from sdcard in rom manager with no avail. Thanks for any help.

Edit: Also any tips on great apps, where to find more themes(already familiar with XDA), etc... anything really for a new droid owner(coming from a JB iphone). If you have any tips that are not in forum guidelines feel free to PM me

Thanks I was in recovery through rom manager when I tried flashing them.

I guess the question is where do I put the zip files? Do they even need to be flashed or just put in the appropriate folder in root? I had them just at main root level(meaning not in a specified folder).
