Flashing ROM wont work... Boot Loops

So this is my second attempt at installing a custom ROM on my Gnex after unlocking and rooting. I tried to install LiquidSmooth 1.3 and followed all the necessary steps.

Downloaded CWM and Flashed Recovery
Booted into recovery and did a system backup
EDIT: Did factory and data reset
Wiped Cache 2 times
Wiped Davlik Cache 2 times
(Here is where something weird happened)
Went to install zip from SD card and it just kept loading I think (circle thing inside android kept running and said sd card extension couldn't be found)
Booted my phone back up normally
Re-downloaded CWM and flashed recovery
Booted into recovery and successfully went into install from zip
Installed LiquidSmooth 1.3 and rebooted.
Stuck in bootloop which now I have to restore again.

Any help?

You need to wipe data, cache, and dalvik, then format system, then go straight to install zip and choose the rom file.

I would try to dl the rom again and check the md5 to make sure it isn't corrupted.

Otherwise sounds like you're doing it right.

Forgot to add that step to the fact pattern... Wiped Data/Factory Reset came before wiping the Cache. I did check the MD5 sums after I transferred them onto the phone root.

If that's the case I would try a different rom to see if the problem is the file or the recovery itself.

What version of recovery are u using? Like, touch orbregilar and what version number?

CWM downloaded from market, regular (non-touch) and 5.5.0.4

This was the recent rom, last rom that I tried it was Codename 1.6 and same thing.

Okay I didn't know that it took that long. Back when I was flashing ROMs on my Fascinate or Thunderbolt it took 3-5 minutes.


Also, when I clicked boot into recovery from CWM before I was going to flash a ROM, something poped up on the screen but the phone turned off to quick for me to know exactly what it said.

Okay just formatted my phone back to factory... unlocked and rooted. Didn't do anything yet except download CWM from market (CWM v5.0.0.6) and flashed the recovery twice (5.5.0.4). I might try to flash the rom again now since I have a clean phone with nothing else on it.

Status Update: Okay boot with LiquidSmooth boot animation now took only 2 minutes. I hope that means it worked since now it is going through activation.

Very strange why all of that happened but now everything is working great. Must say, LiquidSmooth is one FAST rom.

Anyone who is running LiquidSmooth 1.3 seeing that when on the main screens or app drawers it looks like some of the icon color aren't right? Almost like they are way to distinguished, don't know any other way to put it but it doesn't look as "smooth" as the colors on stock.
