Flashing with odin not working

I think you're going to be okay because it's a open firmware and it will load another carrier splash screen to test this is to use another SIM card from another company and see if it loads up its splash screen

i have already tested, ive used 2 different companys sim cards, i still get vodacom splash screen.

also worth noting is that vodacom is the only carrier left in south africa that loads their own junk and splash screen, the other brands just load XFE or XFA with no splash screens or bloatware

This is strange , when you open your phone and go to settings scroll to the bottom about phone then tap software info take a screenshot of that for me

Have you tried to flash the other firmware?

Yes i have tried my XFE also before even france and united arab emirates ive tried. same result over and over.

perhaps you can compare my download screen info to the ones you usually see to check if you can spot a difference there maybe?

There everything looks good

Now I'm thinking because you have the Vodafone sim in the phone is why those first 2 FXV and will change when u insert the other carrier sim , did it ask to reconfigure your device when you put the other sim in ? And if it didn't did you reboot the phone phone after inserting those sim .

i never had any vodafone sim in the phone, thats the thing, i got a 8TA(Telkom mobile) sim and a MTN sim. if i insert any of them i never get a request to reconfigure the device though, even after a reboot

this phone was originally purchased from a vodacom shop and they are preloaded with theid XFV version. but as for a sim card, nope i dont even own one

all good from my side, this will be a great learning experience for all and hopefully one day someone will find this thread who has the same problem and be saved a lot of headache.

I genuinely appreciate the effort. thank you.

No problem , yes it will help others for sure.

@mustang7757 im back, i read on another forum to use comsy odin but that also didnt work as odin needs to be v3,13 to work on these new notes. anyways so i found on XDAdev website the patcheD 3.13 version which should be like comsy only newer. i even checked clear nand flash and even put in the pit file but still sure enough. there is that damn vodacom screen....

ive also used different cable and different pc and still same result
