I think they just meant the power settings. Instead of "Power saving" mode, put it on "Performance mode" when playing the game, see if your problem still occurs or not.
I was having issues with playing Kirby's Dream Land 3 on an emulator with an hdmi cord to my TV from the Prime; the sound was choppy/laggy, and the game had a very slight lag to it when moving around the screen. I messed with the emulator's settings for probably half an hour trying to get it fixed to be smooth. Then I realized all I had to do was put it on "Performance" mode, lol, everything was smooth as hell then. I felt pretty dumb.
