Just curious. Is there a way/device out there to "add" an FM OTA radio antenna to a smartphone without FM antenna built-in? Thanks

Some phones have FM radios in them like the Moto X. These phones use the Headphone cord as the antenna.

I'm pretty sure that you can't just add an antenna to a smartphone and get OTA FM radio.

No it is a fact you can't just add that antenna and get OTA FM radio. But the OP only asked if there was an addon antenna for OTA FM radio. Given there would be no point but it is there if hes wants to try.

Thanks everyone! It seems the app SDR Touch plus some hardware would make it work. A little much, but it works.

What ever hardware you use to get the FM radio will have to have the antenna attached to it not the phone. So it is still pointless to add an antenna to the phone for FM radio if your going to use outside hardware.
