I have looked everywhere and have gotten mixed results does the m8 (ATT) have FM radio built in and if it does is the quality exhalent, normal, or poor?

Stock TMO does have FM Radio receiver build into it.
Under apps its called FM Radio.
ATT should unless it was removed.
I know this discussion was brought up a while back and CDMA unit did not have it, nor do the GPe or Developer editions. But the GPe and Developer GSM units i think have the hardware.. So you may have the hardware but are lacking the software IF ATT stripped it out.
Wish i could help more but i dont have an ATT unit in front of me.

Thanks for the response I called HTC and they said that they ship them to att with the components and that they aren't allowed to rip out the components but he said they have the right to take out the software for it he also went on to say that if they they do take out the software next radio will add it back in but I am still wondering if att even took it out in the first place

The AT&T M8 does have it. The app is named "FM Radio." You must use headphones with the app. I don't use it so I can't comment on the quality.

Works, and sounds fine, as well as an FM radio does. The headphones serve as the antenna. You can play the radio through the headphones, or the phone speakers. I scanned through the local stations, most came in nice & clear. Plays fine in the background and doesn't appear to use a lot of resources. Plug in some headphones and give it a try.

Thanks for your response I am looking for a new phone and believe it or not but a FM radio is a big! Deciding factor when I get new phones I got a note 3 and thought it would have a FM radio boy I will never ever make that mistake again!

I have the Verizon model and it works just fine. NextRadio is the app I use. Just need the headset for the antenna and away you go.

yes, the radio works very good... i like to listen cool stations when i'm walking... i like random music rather than download it

And are y'all in the country or the city? I live in the country and need to know if it would work just fine at my house

That all depends. Are you able to pick up FM radio stations now with a stereo?
My opinions of the FM receiver are its good but not great. Your using the grounding cable of the headphones as the antenna.
Honestly thats a question that only you or someone really close to you can answer with any accuracy.

Burbs. Doesn't work at all at work but I'm in a metal box in a metal box. No signal is getting in there... Otherwise it seems to work pretty well.

Download NextRadio from google play, plug in your headphones, open the app and tune your local stations and see if it works. App is free, you have headphones, no cost to find out.
