I Gave Up on Android Auto and My Alternative Is Brilliant
If there’s one thing that GM’s ridiculous plan of
Thoughts?
What's the best car holder for the Fold?
I could probably get a fold 2 or 3 at a decent price and leave it in the car as a display. All I would need to do is turn on my hotspot.Definitely can be done, just need a good mount and how it will be mounted
Problem comes in heat or cold, the battery won't charge on it if left in car. I've tried to do this with a tablet and it's just easier to just use my phone.I could probably get a fold 2 or 3 at a decent price and leave it in the car as a display. All I would need to do is turn on my hotspot.
Definitely most of the Infotainment system in vehicles today are basically tablets with manufacturer own spin on itI could probably get a fold 2 or 3 at a decent price and leave it in the car as a display. All I would need to do is turn on my hotspot.
Good point. I practically use my iPad Pro as a display for infotainment... I have used Carplay/Android Auto functionality. But I prefer to use my iPad Pro instead with cellular capabilities.Definitely most of the Infotainment system in vehicles today are basically tablets with manufacturer own spin on it
I was little surprised that GM decided this and your right about Bluetooth. I think this where aftermarket headunit/ personal tablet can help if someone really looking for Android AUTO or Apple Car playGood point. There's so much backlash against GM that decided to refuse to implement CarPlay/Android Auto, but as long as car manufacturers put in the latest Bluetooth technology... it shouldn't be such a major issue. Those who are against the move forgot that bluetooth exists.
Tbh, I can understand the move. Telsa... the most popular electric car company doesn't have Android Auto or Apple Car. So, if they can be this sought-after brand... not trying to imply they are without any issues, but only that customers have chosen to buy Telsa vehicles without Android Auto or CarPlay installed.I was little surprised that GM decided this and your right about Bluetooth. Yeah but GM not doing as good as Tesla you would think it would be smart to grab more people with these features.Tbh, I can understand the move. True, but I think the partnership with Google might offset the potential lost of consumers from the initial stages... who knows how much Google is planning to fund them in this whole saga.Yeah but GM not doing as good as Tesla you would think it would be smart to grab more people with these features.
Yeah let's see how this plays out.True, but I think the partnership with Google might offset the potential lost of consumers from the initial stages... who knows how much Google is planning to fund them in this whole saga.
