Nice that someone worked out a solution, but personally I found the greatest benefit of stereo speakers to be that there were two speakers, allowing for greater total volume output at lower distortion. Speakers running in stereo are separated no more than 6 inches apart on the largest of current phones, which doesn't provide much of a discernable separation for stereo imagery unless you're holding the phone pretty close to your face, so while it's nice in theory, in practice it only provides a very modest benefit. This solution requires a substantial drop in volume of the bottom speaker in order for the front speaker to keep pace, so (at least in my opinion) it's an excercise in 'can we do it' more than 'should we do it.'
