For Real this time: EB16 Kernels

I've got a voodoo folder in astro, and my cwm red says voodoo. Does this mean i'm running voodo? To my knowledge, everything I've flashed has been non voodoo.

Thank

No it does not..clockwork sets up that folder when installed

No, it doesn't mean you are running voodoo. CWM was originally developed for voodoo, modified to also be used with nonvoodoo. That's why you see the voodoo in cwm, and the voodoo folder was put there when you installed cwm. Just ignore both. The ONLY way to be running voodoo is to install a voodoo kernel and enable voodoo lag fix.

Can this kernel be used with EB01 debloated/deodexed rom?

Should be fine with just about any EB01 ROM because last I knew, the kernel was actually a blending of an EB01 and an EB16 kernel. EB16 is actually a build for the Samsung Mesmerize (same model number as our Fascinate) for US Cellular.

I'm sorry this is my first time flashing a kernel I have to ask how do I know if I have it? Under kernel it says 2.6.32.9 Build# EB01 Baseband: EA28

Frank, you may run into trouble at some point you've got a mismatched baseband (EA28) and build (EB01) You need to flash the EB01 modem here eb01modem.tar in ODIN.

Hey Adrynalyne, did you ever get that hot chick I sent over to you a few weeks ago? I hope GunnerMike didn't intercept her on you.

Can you explain what a dummy hotspot kernal is, and what it does? I'm a master motorcycle mechanic and teacher so this phone stuff is new to me.

Will this dummy hotspot kernal stop those black helicopters from flying around my house everytime I use barnacle tethering?

Will this work with DL30 leak? I really like this leak and if not, what do you recommend I update to that is similar to DL30 leak?

The hot spot kernel MAY allow you to use wifi tethering without Verizon noticing you are tethering, and then charge you for the usage. Adrynalyne makes no guarantees of this and always cautions everyone "use at your own risk"

I can also report better battery life with this kernel. 12 hours off the charger and I am still at 46%, and that is without doing the batt stats script, or charging/discharging the phone. Just flashed the kernel last night and have been using the phone as I always have.

EDIT - I also forgot to write my time without signal was at 44% because I get no signal in my office and I was there for 9 hours today.

Just to throw it in the pile, since flashing the new kernel every time I try to move stuff from my computer to my SD card via mass storage it crashes my windows. Anyone got any input?

Consider this redacted. Tried other kernel for a repeat.

Uh 0h! Haven't tried to move anything yet. busy schedule the next few days, won't be able to investigate or try it til the weekend.

Flashed from 2.9scnv to 2.9.1scnv and then flashed EB16 kernel. How can you tell if the new kernel took affect?

After you flashed the kernel did some blue text flash on your screen for a couple of seconds? If so, it worked.

I'm not very confident with CWM, seeing I've never used it. Will this ever be available on odin, or is it not possible to?
