Yes. About to double check that it actually started. It said it would enable after reboot.

UPDATE: It said it was disabled and would enable after reboot (as it did when I flashed). I rebooted, turned off, then on & checked again. Still says disabled. Have no idea why its going back and forth.

I got the robot lady like I did earlier. Except this time it says it'll (converting data partition) take 5 minutes.

ok boot back into recovery , wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, enable lagfix, and reboot

Okay, I don't know what the problem was but 2.9+new kernel+LP were just not working together for me. After trying various things, I eventually installed the stock rom, made sure everything was working okay, then installed 2.8 Superclean. Everything is playing nicely so I'll probably leave it at that for now, although I'm sure I won't be able to resist trying 2.9 again in the near future. I want 2.9 to work (and it did until I put on the new kernel) but I must say that 2.8 is running very smoothly with no problems so far.

I noticed there was a thread about someone having issues with 2.9 and LP and I was seeing the same problem - errors on loading and no icons showing in the app drawer. I'll follow that thread and see if that issues gets resolved, then give 2.9 another try.

Has anyone else had an issue with Launcher Pro locking up with this new kernel? The first time I booted with the new kernel everything looked fine initially and then I got a black screen. Rebooted again and Launcher Pro was really slow to get going and gave me an error message. I'll try rebooting one more time and see how it does.

Follow up: Third time was NOT the charm. I'll change it to ADW Launcher and reboot again and see if that makes a difference.
Follow up #2: Not right with stock launcher, either. Hmmm...
Follow up #3: I put the previous EB16 kernel back on and still have the same issue. The only thing that has changed about my phone today was I installed the Amazon App store and their free version of Angry Birds Rio. Maybe the problem is not with the kernel?

go to dbdata/databases/ and delete the com.fede.launcher folder. you will have to set up you launcher again. let me know what happens.

Thanks, but the only change was that when I press the back softkey while in Contacts it flips to Contacts again. Have to press the Home softkey to exit.

But good news! I was wondering why everyone was getting much better performance and not me so i did a reboot and shazzam! Everything flys now..and i re-ran quadrant and now im 153 points HIGHER than before at 1603 Yeah now im sitting cool. And i was just over at the the SC 2.9.1 thread and read 2.9.2 is coming out....can it get any better people??!!
Im keeping this phone no Thunderbolt or others for me!

Initially I was also lower. But after your comment about being higher after a reboot I decided to run it again and now I am a5 1513 which is the highest I have ever been! I do wonder how you are sitting at almost 100 point higher. Anyone have any clues?

lol. it so does not matter. quadrent is gives you an idea, nothing more. flash the same rom again and you will get totaly different score.

A reboot and/or cache wipe always fixes that

I had the same problem with the back key but after I deleted the fede folders and restarted everyting was good. .Thanks to LandShark

My experience with this kernel.
A little better battery life.
Snappier browser response.
Slightly reduced quadrant score. Maybe 50 points. Currently around 1500.
No noticeable bugs.

After rebooting a few times the contacts thing is fine now. I was having various odd issues in addition to that but after the last reboot so far everything is working okay. I'll have to wait and see how things go.
