I think there are two distinctly different things being discussed here...
Is something a good deal?
Is something the best deal currently available?
One is somewhat subjective and based on things that you've had before or things that you seen before.
The second, is based on something thing a bit simpler... What is currently available at the time...
Personally in my obviously subjective opinion...
The LG v20 is not worth $800. I paid $672 at Verizon still not feeling it.
However, the LG v20 is the best deal currently going that I have been able to find. And I'm going to hang on to the phone for that reason.
And that's the point I'm making... Whether they are worth it or not is subjective, and up to the individual... Whether or not a particular price for a particular phone is the best deal going is a little more tangible and concrete.None of top tier phones are worth the price but we buy them anyway.
The software does not lag, keyboard works fine, battery life is good and screen is excellent....next?
My laptop with less battery life, way less mobile, worse front facing camera cost way more than what I paid for the v20

Former Note 7 user.
I just don't get it. $830 and it's not even water resistant. It's an LCD screen! The battery doesn't last as long as it IDEALLY should for a phablet. The camera is good, but not great. The keyboard is a nightmare to use.
I've owned Samsungs, HTC's, and nearly every brand in between. I bought this phone after reading and watching reviews, and I remained skeptical. I bought it because I thought it would be something that would grow on me. I went to the Note 7 forum and noticed a lot of former users jumped on the V20 wagon.
I don't get it. What is everyone seeing in this phone that I don't? If this thing were maybe in the $600's, I'd say that's a solid deal. But this thing is being marketed and sold as an $830 device, and it certainly doesn't feel like one to me.
Sometimes you get what you pay for. You want the best network, then you can't expect the cheapest plans on the market.Lol and Verizon has that high bill every month too makes you wonder why you pick them too![]()
Exactly. A LOT cheaper than the $865 Note 7 on Verizon. Almost $200 cheaper. With the same processor, RAM, expandable memory, USB type C, same screen size (even if it's not AMOLED). Fast Charging, removable battery, and vastly superior audio with the Quad DAC.Verizon has the phone priced at $672. You should be more angry at yourself for choosing a provider like T Mobile.
If you're just looking to satisfy the basic needs, then fine. Good for you if you're happy with a $400 smartphone. Some us find the bonus features and specs worth the extra $$. Point is, what may be waste to you or others, is only a waste to someone else if they don't think they got proper value and performance for their extra money. I think I got GREAT value for my $672 v20 on Verizon. And honestly, would feel the same even if it was as much as the AT&T version. It's taken me some time to conclude that, but I am very happy right now. So, to me, what I spent was not a waste. Even if it's not quite as premium feeling as my Note 7Thank you for the awesome laugh X1tymez!
I always feel like this when i see people purchasing $700+ devices.
A $399 device will more than satisfy most peoples needs![]()
Did you make it in time for the free headphones promotion?Coming from the note 7 myself i can see how some might feel like the v20 isnt worth the price. After all Sammy spoiled us. We got headphones, adapters, free watches, free vr headsets. And lg just gave us the bare minimum.
But the phone itself is really nice. The screen looks great. The 2nd screen I LOVE moreso then the edge on note 7. Lg lets you customise everything which is always cool. I hate that im missing none google applications like gallery and calendar. Found a way around that. Never liked the glass backs too slippery to hold. The finger print sensor is actually reallly good. Works faster on the lg then it did on the note7. Lg did a pretty good job. They could've done better. I think had the note7 succeded the v20 might've been cheaper. But they got sammy "sloppy seconds" lol. And maybe took advantage of a higher price?
I got the $200 bestbuy promo so used it towards the phone.
