Very satisfied with mine in the 24 hrs I've had it. I think the overall reviews in the press have been less than neutral. There are a ton of so called "tech journalists" that have diddled the Xoom for a few hours and have focused only on negatives. The reviews have also been very consumer oriented and not so business oriented. Like one of the Android Central podcasts stated: The future of the smartphone / tablet wars is on the business front and not the consumer front. It will take a lot to knock Apple off their pedestal. However, it will also take a lot for Apple to knock Microsoft / Google on the business front.
Although there are not many apps available at this stage, I am surprised at to how useful the Xoom is. The out of box experience is super and I'm surprised the tech media hasn't praised Honeycomb for this. As soon as I opened the box I entered my gmail info and in literally a couple of minutes the following items were synced:
1. Picasa albums
2. Gmail e-mail and calendars
3. Google Contacts
4. Google Chrome bookmarks
5. Google Apps e-mail, contacts and calendars (my work e-mail is hosted by Google)
6. Youtube favorites and uploaded vids
I didn't need a single app to make any of the above to happen. Let's be honest, the tech media keeps saying that iOS has a bazillion apps. How many friggin apps does one need? I am already experiencing app overload on my iPhone 4 and these days purchase maybe 1 app per month. I will be thrilled if Honeycomb can introduce 1,000 quality apps.
