OK, doesn't make sense to me (maybe you save $15).

2 day shipping is normally $30+ we get it for $14.99 (I do anyway).

You're angry at Google, gonna teach them a lesson baby!

Too late to cancel the order, your account (either credit, debit or checking) is charged. Soooo today you run down to Staples or GS and pick one up. Pay the $199 or $249 whichever, plus tax.

UPS comes by, if you're there you refuse the shipment. If not, they try two more attempts. Then the device is sent back to Google, who process the returns, check the billing and issue a credit, right? Simple, quick process right?

You're angry at Google because you think they messed up this release because some stores started selling before they were authorized and you think the whole thing is a debacle.

My question is then, why do you think Google will handle your refund any better? Between Google processing it and your banking institution processing it, it will probably be another week AT least. Sorry for you people that had it coming out of your checking, those funds will not be yours again for awhile.

So, you don't have to wait another day or two to get your Nexus 7. You just have to wait another week or two to get your refund.

But hey, you saved the $15 shipping charge by driving you gas guzzler (insert however may miles here) to pick it up and waiting for your bank to make the funds available to you again.

I'm not angry at Google, I just wanted an N7 sooner than it turned out they were going to send it to me, so I picked one up in stores. It isn't to "stick it" to Google at all, it's just a matter of convenience. I'll refuse shipment, and the refund will be processed in 2-3 weeks probably.

No matter what the financial institution, you can always call and dispute the charge. Your funds are available again. I personally don't mind waiting longer, but it is quite annoying when I ordered on the 27th of June and people who ordered on the 10th of July have tracking numbers. If people want their N7s now, and they can get them, what do you care?

Well i'm leaving on vacation tomorrow so It was either pick one up from the store or let the google play one sit on my porch for a month. And I also told them I needed it by the 16th, so it's not as if I did that to get back at them or anything.

BTW...I ordered on the 27th before the announcement started and I haven't even been charged yet or heard anything else about the tablet.

Did you order the OEM case? Been reading that a lot of people aren't getting info are ones that got a case with it, which could be the delay.

Troll much?

No trolling here, but your tone indicates I may have struck a nerve. Sorry. Mine is being delivered tomorrow, confirmed. I don't need to wait 2-3 weeks for a refund, because I don't need a refund.

Not mad, as such. Just out of patience. Besides, I bought the 16G version - I was having buyers remorse over cheaping out on the 8G version, especially since I can't add an SD card. Of course, $50 for 8G od memory is robbery, but they aren't any different from Apple in that respect.

So yeah, I saved a few bucks, got a better device, and I got it later than I should have but before Google was deigning to ship my long pre-ordered unit. Which was pathetic, stupid and lame of them but not unexpected. Most large companys make a habit of being pathetic, stupid and lame.

So today I am feasting my eyes on that really pretty awesome display, marveling at how freakin' FAST it is, and generally having a ball.

Yes I did. I'm curious as to when it will ship and I wonder if it will even be in the next two weeks.

I don't particularly. Just making an observation that it doesn't make sense for me to do that. If it makes sense for them, good. They justify it only to themselves, not me or anyone here.

I've been told I'm silly for paying an extra $50 for the 16GB model over the $199 8GB one, because a 16GB SD card is only 9.99 at best buy.

But the 16GB models were sold out pretty quickly, only the 8GB model left on the Google site as of this morning.

So there's a lot of silly people I guess, but we justify to ourselves and no one else.

I can understand the patience thing. And the 16GB unit out of buyers remorse. Your situation is not unique, and in your shoes I probably WOULD have picked one up and gone through the waiting for a refund. Your situation does make sense to me. I ordered the 16GB up front as I knew 8GB wouldn't work. Been there before.

See there you're problem. You equate waiting for refund to waiting for Nexus. They aren't the same. I can wait for a refund because I have the Nexus I wanted to use while I wait.

You think waiting a couple of days is reasonable, answer me this, what is unreasonable? If you had to wait for two months would you still be OK cuz at least you won't be waiting for a refund? Meanwhile you could go down to the local store and by one?

Yeah, this seems like trolling to me too. But I'll play along.

$15 is pretty typical price for 2 day shipping from a business. Don't compare the price you get quoted at the UPS store with the price Google pays, that is apples and oranges.

It'll probably take a couple weeks to get the refund. But for the anxious Android fan that wants the tablet now and has enough money in the bank, that isn't an issue at all.

I don't think the price of gas driving to a retail store to buy a Nexus 7 is a factor for most people. I happen to drive past 2 Game Stops on my way home.

For the record, I'm still waiting on my Nexus 7 I ordered from Play. I plan to accept it and decided not to buy one at one of the many retail stores in my area that probably have it now. While I'm a bit annoyed, I figure I can wait the extra few days.

Many people that ordered the device AND the case are in your same boat. My presumption is that the cases are not ready, so the order is delayed until they can be shipped together. Which to me is sad, they should send emails on this and give each customer to option to wait for both or receive the device now and pay additional shipping on the case, if necessary.

I was curious so I called my local Staples (where I used to work) and they had one left. I stopped by on my way home from work and picked it up and then I also purchased the 2 year protection plan with accidental damage. I will probably return it when my Google Play order comes in but the bottom line is I was annoyed to high hell over the fact if I knew I would be able to purchase the device from a B&M store in the first place I would have never ordered from the Google Store.

Lol at "my tone" from a written post. I'm perfectly calm. I'm not mad at Google at all - they are a great company that is providing me with a great product. I just found a way to get that product earlier than they ended up being able to get it to me. Just seems strange that you took it upon yourself to make a whole thread on people who are choosing to refuse shipment. It's not anything out of the ordinary.

I sure wasted a lot of gas on Friday by walking into a GS in the same shopping center where I ate lunch. :D:D
I got my Nexus 7 sooner and saved $14. You can't beat that with a stick. The refund on my CC will come eventually from the Play store. No worries.

U MAD?

You wasted calories going on that walk. Had you been huddled under your desk waiting for the tablet like a good boy, you could have saved money by skipping lunch.

What would be unreasonable is not receiving my pre-order within the stated time frame of 2-3 weeks, as stated on the site on 6-27 when I placed the order. Deliver is scheduled for tomorrow 7-17. Wish it had been within 2 weeks,l but looks like its at 3. Reasonable.

If charged to a credit card, probably the money isn't a major issue as you can make sure with you cc company that no interest for the period is to be charged. But that is up to each company. If I had used debit or checking to pay, and have to wait 2-3 weeks to get my money back, THAT would be TOTALLY unreasonable.

The written word can indeed convey a "tone" or attitude if you prefer.

As far as opening this thread it was simply to state my inability to understand the poison in the (10 or so) threads started spouting "Foul! Foul! String up Google! They got devices to the common man before me, their loyal nerd techie!"

"It's MY Nexus 7, and I want it NOW!!" Double-LOL.
