i used the free trial version of this app and it worked...

All a person has to do is download the app. called: Screen Capture -No Rooting 2.2

Or, use This App. There is a switch in the settings for root or no root (see the second screenshot). Just turn off the root and it works fine.

I use screen shot it also, i tried it on my non rooted photon and all the yellow colors come out pink for some reason. But my rooted evo 4g4G has no issues. Maybe its the wallpaper im using when doing a screen capture.

I grabbed an .apk over at XDA for an app called Screen Grabber. I used it before I rooted my MoPho and it works great.
