Im getting alot of force close notices when using different programs all of which came on the phone. Anyone else getting these?

yES, Ive got one from MMS, HTC Sense wasnt responding so it force closed. There are a couple other things that force close, but Im starting to wonder if the bugs are inconsistent glitches, or signs of a deeper problem.

Have you tried simply rebooting the phone? I experienced this when I first got the Inc and loaded a ton of apps, widgets, live wallpapers etc. After rebooting, I haven't received a single error in over a week even with heavy use.

Is there a better way to reboot than pulling the battery physically ?

Simply holding the power button and choosing "power off" then hitting the power button once again will do the trick. It not like a BlackBerry, where you must do a battery pull to fully turn the device off.

I am having some apps force close even after a factory reset. I only have pandora and skype installed as far as third party apps and they both have force close since the factory reset.

I am also having a problem where my phone locks up (maybe once every two days or so) so i did the factory reset to see if it would help with that problem. Too early to tell if it made a difference but if apps force closing is not normal I may just bring it back today for a new one.

I think this is what you meant to say.;)

When you get a force close 9 times out of 10 its because the system recognizes a problem with app causing it not to respond and it recommends that you force close it so that it can re start again properly. Battery pulls and powering off the phone is uneccessary. Think of it like your internet when its says not responding. To fix it, you either close the browser and the system warns you and does it for you. Same thing. You would restart your computer would you?...

...if you do, you're wasting your time.

What would you suggest if you get the force close for the android system os? It has happened twice to me, and both times I hit wait and it just sits there for several mins then asks me to force close or wait some more. So I force close, and the black srceen is there for another couple of mins before I get sick of waiting and pull the battery.

I usually only do a battery pull when the phone is completely unresponsive. Not that I wouldn't do a battery pull if I was getting a bunch of app errors.

Remember, these are practically mini computers we are carrying around. Drfundy is spot on, if you phone is completely unresponsive then I would do a batt pull. But don't be so early to jump the gun. The steps you are taking are fine. I would click wait first, then force close, and if still nothing after waiting a while, I would do a batt pull.

Hope this helps.

Cool thanks.

I have been having problems as well. yesterday when i was browsing the internet over wifi the phone just froze. It was just loading the screen the after that while i was texting it again locked up. Both times I had to do a battery pull. I did a factory reset and in the next couple days Ill keep an eye out. I hope its doesn't persist i really don't want to go in and get a new one
