I just tried to upgrade from my DInc to the Rezound online. Verizon's site was forcing me to switch to the 4GB data plan from my current unlimited data plan. Has anyone else seen that? I understood we would be able to keep the unlimited data plan even when upgrading phones.
Thanks,

Dont do it ! Call a rep who will do it while keeping your plan. If you have unlimited you can keep it even after upgrade.

Get a real person!!!! Don't lose your unlimited plan.

Definitely get a Rep to assist you. You are grandfathered in. I upgraded from the original Since to the thunderbolt without a problem

Thanks. I guess it was just a glitch in the web site. I tried again on a different browser and it went through fine with keeping the unlimited plan.

Yeah I bought the phone this morning and did not have to change from my unlimited!! Glad it was just a glitch!!

When I ordered mine online it did't force me to a limited plan. Since I'm grandfather with verizon.

Just did the same. Here's what you need to do. Call 611and talk to someone who will note your account that they will switch you back to your grandfathered unlimited plan. Just did this today myself. You will need to order online to get the $50 discount to $249.00. Go to a VZ store, have them look up your account to make sure it is noted, then go online and order the Rezound, change to whatever dataplan. After you activate the phone, call VZ at 611, have them switch you back to the unlimited.

Where do you get $249 from? I get $299 with my upgrade. Is there some sort of other $50 discount I'm missing?

On the website it shows a $50 discount for ordering online when I login to MyVerizon account. Makes it $249.

WHere on the website do you see that? I either don't have it or I missed it. All I have is a $50 discount to add a new line.

Hmm, I just picked my phone/number, did upgrade, selected Android phones, comes up with price of $249. And it's the same $249 f for the Droid Razr too. When I talked to the VZ rep at the 611 number because I had to change dataplans, he said he could place the order but I wouldn't get the discount. That's when he noted my record that VZ will switch me back to the grandfathered unlimited data plan after I order the phone (with new dataplan) and activate it.

Not sure why yours doesn't show that price.

Any VZ reps onboard that can explain it?

Reality is I don't really need the unlimited plan, but I get it at 44.95, so why not? Since the 20GB is $100 a month, no reason not to. But when I check my Blackberry, which has company and personal email, and web access, I haven't used 20GB in a year.

The $50 is probably the last new every two discount it gets applied automatically (if you're eligible) if you log in and select the primary line to upgrade.

Strange. I already have the unlimited plan, and it didn't tell me I had to change my plan. I just clicked the unlimited plan that I was currently on, and then it gave me the $299 price.
I'm going to hold off and see if I go into a store what they say. I'll tell them that I have friends that got the phone for $249 and see if they match. I'd imagine that they want to sell phones.
