Ford Sync not updating cell signal strength

I've had a slight problem since I purchased my S3 back in October last year. When I have my phone connected to the Ford Sync everything works great except that it won't update cell signal strength in the display of the Ford Sync. It displays it for the first maybe 5 minutes and then it stays at the last signal display until I make or receive a phone call. Then it will repeat the same thing and stay locked to the last signal that it had.

It's there a work around for this? Do I need to turn something on? I've played with most of the settings that I thought it would be. I've searched forums and couldn't find anything on the subject either. Any help would be greatly appreciated as its been bugging me more and more lately.

Yes. And it still does the same thing. I think it has to do with Bluetooth going into some energy saving mode. Not sure though.

I am going to assume your GS3 is updated to the latest android version available, and as such my next suggestion is that you try deleting the paired devices on both your phone and your vehicle, then reboot your phone, turn the vehicle off then back on, and pair them again. If it continues acting up then you very well could be right about it being an actual bluetooth problem. As far as I know, Android still does not support the API's for bluetooth low-energy so even though your phone has the antenna it cannot use the features (Even though the phone was marketed as having BLE.) This may be fixed in the next version of android (I hope!).

I've tried the unpairing and the rebooting and it still didn't work. It's not a deal breaker. It's just nice to know your signal strength. Especially when your in the mountains and the signal keeps cutting out. I can just look on the phone but that defeats the purpose of having it connected to the truck and besides it's illegal. I did hear that 4.3 is suppose to have support for BT 4.0 which I think would solve the problem. Thanks for the help though.
