Another vote for Dark Sky. Switched a few years ago when The Weather Channel's app continued to be more and more unusable.

Dark sky for sure.

Problem with Dark Sky is that it doesn't do severe weather or thunderstorms well. Precipitation is rain or drizzle. And the hyperlocal stuff is usually pretty inaccurate IMO.

Has anyone tried Windy? I had it recommended to me long ago, and I think it works really well. It's not 100% accurate... but I don't think any weather app / station ever is.

What region do you live in? It's pretty good in the SF Bay Area. It gives severe weather alerts based on the ones sent out by the National Weather Service.

Might cross Dark Sky off the list. No it does not do alerts well like was mentioned previously. Also, got a message when I opened the app today saying that they had sold to Apple and would be gone soon (think July 1)... Now I have to find a new weather app...

Dark Sky (was) great. Apple bought it and it will be IOS only. Make sure you cancel your subscription if you have one. I did today.

I saw in one of the articles (I think The Verge) that Android users who subscribed would get a refund (presumably prorated) for this year's subscription.

I like NOAA Weather Unofficial (Pro).
Odd name, but good weather app.
Weather is critical to my business. I like the brief description provided for each day in the weekly forecast of this app.
Good radar, and I like that it is not loaded with fluff. I paid $20 for WeatherBug Pro, but I use this one instead.

After how Weather Bug discontinued their paid app several years ago, I vowed to never give them another penny.

"Do you still get the advance rain warnings?"

Yes, often on clear sunny days with no rain for miles. And on some rainy days it says nothing at all about rain. San Antonio/Austin area.
