Forgotten knock code on LG Stylo 3

[Android Central Question]

I found my old LG Stylo 3 I used about a year and a half ago but I forgot the knock code for it. I've tried over 50 times but now each time I get it wrong it tells me to wait a few minutes. The funny thing is that it doesn't ask me to input a backup pin, although people say it's mandatory. I can't even see my photos using my PC because it's on charge mode and I can't switch it back to MTP without unlocking, so how can I fix this? I don't want to factory reset. (On Android 6) Thanks

Unfortunately, all I can find on the web is doing a hardware key factory reset.:-\ It may not prompt you for a backup password because the phone may just treat the knock code as if it were another kind of password. If you use a password, PIN, or pattern, and you forget it, there's no backup way either.
