Form filling history

[Android Central Question]

On my Galaxy S7 running Android 7.0 I have the option to put all information into a form field that I have used in the past in the same or similar fields, e.g name and and email address. On my other Galaxy S7 running Android 8.0 I cannot do this.

Is there an option to enable it anywhere? Which app handles this?

OP here: For the record, "Autofill for Samsung Pass" does not exist on Android 7.0 (which is the version my autofill works on). I have this app on Android 8.0 and it doesn't do what I want it to do.

I can't remember when Samsung pass was available on Samsung I thought around s9/Note 9 series but have you looked into Google autofill as it comes with both options on Samsung devices at least newer ones

I have Samsung Pass on Android 7.0 as well, but the Autofill app is only available on 8 and up. Neither the Google or the Samsung Pass one seem to do anything on my Android 8 model.

I can't confirm as all my devices are on Android 12 , maybe see if any members here can help chime in

Just to make sure you open both Google and Samsung pass to confirm password are saved there ?

They aren't passwords, they're regular form fields (like name, address); stuff that isn't locked behind the biometrics of Samsung Pass. I was able to save forms on Android 7.0 even before using Samsung Pass, and I have always uninstalled/disabled the main Google app.

One more thing , go to settings>general management>autofill see if Google or Samsung pass is chosen?

I tried both, neither seem to work (at least in any of the form fields in the Jotform app). This entire menu is completely missing on Android 7, so I don't even know which part of the system handles the form autofills there which do actually work there)

I'm not sure for that app

Yeah on my Android 7.0 S7 it works in all apps with form fields. Maybe it's just an "old" Android thing.

Its possible , wish i could test that out but dont have any Android device running older Android version.
