Former Nexus 10 Owners who bought a new different tablet or bought a second one

I had a N10 last year. I had problems with it re-booting several times a day and convinced myself to sell it, and buy something smaller and more reliable. I went through a Note 8, 2 N7 (2013), and several LG G Pads, both the original and GPE. I just pulled the trigger on getting another N10. I realized after looking at the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet specs that the N10 really has all I want. Sure the new Samsungs are nice but I am not a fan of the UI, though it is fine for a lot of people, just not me. I'll keep my G Pad GPE for when I need to travel lighter.

I'd forgotten how nice this tablet is and it really isn't that much larger in total size than an 8 inch tablet. I ordered an Xperia Z2 tablet from the Sony store. It should be here the week after next, and I'm going to compare the 2 tabs. I am pretty sure I am going to like the Z2 tablet, if for no other reason than the micro SD card and faster processor. Still, the screen on the N10 and performance are awesome!

It's a nice tablet, but you have to be rooted to access the sd card. That makes no sense whatsoever. Zippy performance and ice size. I hope Google stays around the same size with the next Nexus tablet.

What do you like better about the g pad vs the nexus and vice versa?

I bought a Nexus 10 last february of 2012 .I only used it for 3 months before it broke down on me. I sent it to the states (Google) to have in checked. Its now 2014 . I havent received any reply . I bought a Nexus 7 2013 model. So far so good. it just sucks that i wasted $548 dollars for my Nexus 10 :'(

I have a Taipad 9x also and need the original firmware. If you've found a copy I would be very grateful if you shared it.

I love my Nexus 10. I've had it exactly a year this month.

I've had 3 Nexus 7 devices (one 2012 and two 2013s). The Nexus 7 is great for getting on the train or travelling with to the supermarket, or gym, etc. I use it mainly for audio books, reading and have 4LTE / 3G contract for 2 years on it. 32 GB. One of my 2013s was lost and never returned, so I had to buy a new one and do not regret it.

However, my screen cracked on my new Nexus 7 and my Nexus 10. I think the screens are a little weak.

I also have an ASUS HD7. Also very nice. Screen seems stronger.

The Nexus 10 is great for taking into the bathtub or going to bed with. I use it all the time. I keep it on a book stand next to my computer on my desk and play TuneIn Radio through a bluetooth speaker I have on the desk. It's great for reading and listening to audio books on.

What I do not like is that Google constantly changes things and often for the worse. I do not like the new camera features with the camera button on the top. I hate it. Also, the default photo manager was changed to Google Photo or Picasa from the old manager. I really liked the features of the old manager a lot. The old manager is still there, but it is no longer the default manager.

Little things that tick me off, but overall a good experience over the last year with Nexus 10.

In fact, I'm sad to read that they may likely be killing it off. I've done several Google searches over the last several months looking for a second generation release of the Nexus 10 but it looks like it has been discontinued.

However, Google refuses to actually come and explicitly state what they are doing with Nexus 10. Which is irritating.

I think they will end up making another buy who knows when.
