So I was a long time SERO customer (the $30/500 min plan) until I bought a Pre back in June of 2009. (I'm now an Evo owner) On a whim, I decided to stop in a Sprint store today while doing errands (corporate store) to try and play dumb and see if they'd give me SERO back. I just asked a very nice young sales gal if I could have my SERO account reinstated, explaining that I used to have SERO and now that Sprint is allowing it again I'd like to have it re-added. I was fully expecting this to go nowhere fast, but to my amazement she said, "sure - give me a few minutes." 4 minutes later I walked out of the store with my good old SERO plan back!! Of course it's $20 more now, and it's called SERO Premium, but whatever - still less than I was paying with everything data.
Just thought I'd mention this to let others know that it's at least technically possible. (her system clearly didn't prevent her from doing it) So the only hurdle is to find a sprint rep who isn't aware of the rules and will hook you up. Keeping in mind that sprint doesn't have the most well-trained reps, that hurdle shouldn't be too high...
