Foryo - Multimedia Dock Notification

I have a question. I updated to Froyo last night with a forced update non-rooted phone never have done it. I know back in 2.1 there used to be a notification that you were hooked up to a multimedia dock but I do not see that option anymore on Froyo. The dock comes up when you first plug it in but if you go home there is no way to go back to the dock screen without pulling it out and putting it back in. Did they get rid of the notification for the multimedia dock in froyo? It not how can I get it back? Sorry for the stupid question just an annoyance I found. Thanks.

There is a program called DockRunner that you can use to force the Dock function, even when you are not plugged in to a dock. Might be something you could try.

Although I honestly don't see the use for DockRunner, when the clock app in the launcher actually launches the same thing in FroYo.
And yeah, the lack of notification is a bit odd, but you can always press home to launch the clock if your docked. At least, that's how it works on mine.

by pressign the home key it should take you back to the dock screen. mine does. but ur right, no more dock notification, but thats ok.

on a side note, anyone know a way to STOP the dock screen from going into screensaver mode with the green clock led bouncing around? id like that at night, but at work all day i want the screen to stay with the weather screen and such.

Yes, home key gets back to the dock screen as always. That's the way I've always done it -- hadn't even noticed that the notification isn't there any longer until I read this thread.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I honestly can't stand the new doc screen at all. The old one looked much nicer and didn't have the annoying 1990s bouncing green text screensaver. I mean seriously why does an LCD screen that's DOCKED (assuming it's plugged in) even need a screensaver?? If anyone knows how to shut it off please let us know. Thanks.

I also noticed that the Back-Home-Menu-Search buttons do not dim at night while in the dock. I thought that was supposed to be included in this version.
